East Bank Tours
Discover Luxor’s East Bank
In addition to Luxor city itself, there are three main sites to visit on the East Bank of Luxor: Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, and the Luxor Museum.
One advantage of exploring the East Bank is that these attractions generally have later opening hours than the sites on the West Bank, making it possible to enjoy an East Bank tour later in the day. Luxor Temple is especially beautiful in the evening and stays open after sunset, when the temple is beautifully illuminated.
This is also why, when we combine the East and West Banks in one day, we usually visit the West Bank first and finish the day on the East Bank. This allows us to make the most of the opening hours and enjoy Luxor Temple in the late afternoon or evening.
Both Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple are well worth visiting during your stay in Luxor. Karnak is one of the largest and most impressive temple complexes in Egypt, while Luxor Temple offers a very different atmosphere, especially in the evening.
The Luxor Museum is also well worth a visit during your time in the city. Although it is much smaller than the major museums in Cairo, its carefully selected collection includes many remarkable statues, artifacts, and treasures from ancient Luxor and the surrounding area.
Our East Bank tours of Luxor can be arranged as private tours, allowing you to explore these important sites at a comfortable pace and choose the timing that works best for you.
We also offer small-group tours for those who prefer to explore Luxor with a few other travelers. Please message us for available dates and information about our group tours.
